Word  Processing
Time: begins week 1 and ends week 3 (approximately)

The student uses technology to assist in gathering, analyzing, organizing and presenting information; that is the student demonstrates his/her:
     1. Use of the internet: to acquire information for specific purposes from reliable on-line sources.
     2.
Use of software:  to use word processing, graphics, spread sheets, presentation software and web page building applications to produce reports and related materials.
     3. Presenting Work: makes the result of their work available to various audiences by use of an appropriate  presenting tool such as:
               a.
hardcopy-a printed copy of work used to reach a limited number of people.
               b. PowerPoint- presentation software used to reach a larger group of people.
               c. Website-  presentation becomes available to all people who have access to the internet

Project:
Students will open and save word processing documents located on this page to the an appropriate location on their computers. Students will then format the document, insert graphics and in general improve the appearance of the document to make it attractive and easy for a person to read. An important application of this work would enable the student to enhance the appearence of term papers and reports that were assigned by their teachers.

These are the word processing items that you need to demonstrate you can do in order to show your proficiency in using Microsoft Word for this class.

1. Set a paragraph indent
2. Set the spacing between lines
3. Change the alignment of the text
4. Remove unnecessary spaces between paragraphs
5. Change the margins
6. Change the font, size and the style of the text
7. Move text from one location to another location
8. Insert a perfectly centered title
9. Illustrate the document
10. Save the document to a particular location with an appropriate title. This is called file management. 
11. Use a number list to do an outline
12. Make a customized bulleted list.
13. Make a business card
